Class of 2012 New Officer Biographies
Ruling Elder
· Mary Ann Ray has been a member of GPC since the early 1990s and has served on the Worship Committee, the Congregational Nominating Committee and the Choir. Mary Ann moved to Temple from Euless in 1983 to work as a reporter at the Temple Daily Telegram where she met her husband, Randy. They were married at First Presbyterian Church in 1985. Mary Ann currently works as an academic advisor at Temple College and teaches Study Skills in the Division of Student Success. Mary Ann graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in journalism. She and Randy have a family of four-legged, furry children.
· Stan Henn has been a resident of Temple since 1981. He is married, has two children and four grandchildren. Stan and his wife, Millie, have been members of GPC since 1982. Stan has been both an Elder and a Deacon, serving as the Clerk of Session and a member of the Search Committee.
· Sally Tietje wasborn and raised in Oklahoma and grew up in Oklahoma City. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently the eLearning Coordinator at Temple College. Her husband is Eldon and their grown daughter is Gretchen. Sally is a “cradle to date” Presbyterian and has been a member of GPC since 1993. Sally has previously served on the Board of Elders at Grace.
· Richard Tolleson has lived in Temple for 21 years. He and his wife, Natasha, have been members of Grace for 20 years. They have three children, Alexandra - 20, Spencer - 16, and Emma - 13. Richard teaches English, Journalism, Video Technology and Film at Temple High School where Natasha is the Theatre Arts Director. Richard was raised in a Protestant Christian home and became a Presbyterian in 1984.
Deacon
· Lorraine Care moved from Boston to Salado in 1996 after she retired from the insurance business and her husband, Ed (Edgar) retired from banking. Lorraine and Ed have been married for 51 years and have two daughters and five grandchildren. She has been a member of GPC since December of 2004. Lorraine works two days a week at a small shop in Salado (for fun).
· Mike Kosel was born in Fort Worth, TX but has spent most of his life in Temple. He and his wife, Julie, have been members at GPC since 1994 (both having previously served on the Board of Deacons). They have two children, Kelli and Cory, who grew up at GPC and are currently away at college. Mike is employed with FedEx Freight in Temple. An avid sports buff, he enjoys playing golf and tennis and viewing most all televised sports, especially the TEXAS RANGERS!
· Diana Mayes was born and raised in deep East Texas where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Cliff. They have lived most of their married life in Nederland (Beaumont area) where they raised three sons, Michael, Steven and Greg. Diana retired as Purchasing Manager for Helena Laboratories in Beaumont. She and Cliff fell in love with central Texas when their oldest son, Michael came to UMHB to play basketball. Michael married a local girl and they have two daughters. After retirement they moved to Temple and, in 2005 they became members of GPC.
· Lynda Stokes, her husband, Bill and son, Brian have been members of GPC since 1978. Their daughter, Kelly was born into the Grace Family in August of 1980. As a session member in the mid 1980s, Lynda’s goal was to start a Meals-on-Wheels program for GPC (which is still running strong). She is currently a teacher for Temple ISD and has been the coordinator of the School Age Pregnancy and Parenting Program – Preparing Responsible Effective Parents (PREP) for 22 years.
