Scripture Highlight

James 3:17-18
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”

Dear Friends of CTLC:

Take time to listen. God may be calling you to his purpose just as he called Samuel, (1 Samuel 3:1-10) and you should be prepared to answer.   We become so involved with loved ones and those things that make up our lives that we forget to be still and listen to God.  Even when we pray, we are not still.  We busily ask God to care for loved ones, to help us solve problems, etc. and then run to the next item on our list for that day.  We rarely sit still, be quiet, and listen.  God wants to tell us so much.  He has so many things in mind for us.  If you do anything new this year, take time to listen.

You have cared so very much for CTLC, our volunteers and our clients, that we were able to meet the increased demands for our services.  Financially, we finished the year at about break even.  Your year-end gifts allowed us to end the year in the black by just over $1,400.00.  This is just where we needed to be.  Thank you for your continued support.

December brought us 60 new families (168 individuals).  A total of 658 clients (2397 individuals) required our assistance in one way or another.  649 families received food and 424 clothing.  Thanks to our many supporters, new toys and bicycles were given to our children.  Two hundred ten pieces of linen were requested and 26 sets of curtains, 9 heaters, 52 packages of diapers/pull-ups, and 532 toiletry items were distributed.

In case you might have wondered, toiletries are important to our families.  This category includes toilet tissue, laundry and bath soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, razors, shaving crème, etc.  As far as I know, CTLC is the only pantry that makes these things available on a regular basis.  They represent a little bit of help that goes a long way toward assisting our families to meet the world head on.

In December, our volunteers prayed with 581 clients and distributed 89 Bibles.  They distributed numerous tracts and directed several to area churches.  Two families received professional counseling.

January 3 found CTLC on a new track.  We are now distributing food and other items once a month.  We hope this will meet the needs of our ever growing list of clients.  In order to do this we need your continued support.  Listen to that still small voice and do what you can to assist us in this effort.

“A man is rich according to what he is,
Not according to what he has.”
